Screenplay Award Winner Hey Vendor Plays Los Angeles Shorts Fest July 29

Last year's Slamdance short screenplay winner Hey Vendor written by Christopher Hlas received the prize of film production and after screening at Slamdance now rolls onto LA Shorts Festival. Produced as a $99 Special, this surreal story centers around Mike and forces conspiring against him eating a pretzel. Directed by award winning filmmaker Mathew Harrison and starring Troy Garity, Hey Vendor plays in Program 39 at 10pm on Thursday, July 29 at Lammle's Sunset 5.

IFC To Release A Quiet Little Marriage On DVD

A Quiet Little Marriage, Slamdance 2009 Grand Jury Prize Winner, is being released August 31st on DVD by IFC films. It's currently available on Amazon, iTunes, BestBuy and soon Netflix. If you missed it at the festival, now is your chance to see it.

Q: I’m having trouble downloading the production footage. What should I do next?

A: Send an email to programming@slamdance.com with your name and address and we’ll send you a dvd of the production footage.

Q: Is there a way to remove the time code indicator or is it expected to be in the final cut?

A: Think of your submission entry as a rough cut as if being shown to the director you are collaborating with. If you’re selected as a finalist, we will help you produce a conformed presentation for your festival screening.

Q: I’m having trouble registering using the link on your webpage. Is there a back-up link?

Q: After registering on WAB, what do I need to do to enter?

A: The first step is to add a qualifying project. You can do so by going to “add a project” and follow the steps filling in any information (school information, level, editor(s), contact information) as necessary. Once you’ve done this, you can return to the competition page and submit your entry form.

Q: What format do I submit my Re-Cut in?

A: You can submit your entry in PAL or NTSC on DVD.

Q: When are the deadlines?

A: The deadline to submit your registration is October 1, 2010. The deadline to submit your final Re-Cut entry is postmarked on or before October 29, 2010.

Slamdance/Adobe Calling All Emerging Editors To Re-Cut

SHOWCASE YOUR EDITING TALENT

Film production students in higher education worldwide are invited to enter the First Annual Slamdance/Adobe Re-cut Competition for emerging editing talent. Entrants will have the opportunity to re-edit a scene from the indie classic MALL COP by Palm d'Or winning filmmaker and GREY's ANATOMY editor David Greenspan.

Participants will re-cut a selected scene using Adobe Premiere® Pro CS5 trial software. All submissions will receive education copies of Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, so everybody wins! Three talented finalists will be rewarded with their own Adobe CS5 Production Premium education software and the Grand Prize winner will also earn round-trip transportation and four days of accommodations to attend the 2011 Slamdance to experience seeing their winning work screened at the Festival. Registrations to participate now open through Oct. 1, 2010. Final submissions must to be received by Slamdance by Oct. 31, 2010.
