The Slamdance Games Festival
Over the past several years, Slamdance has devoted a great deal of time, personnel, and resources to producing the Slamdance Games Festival - the first public venue devoted to highlighting and promoting independent work in the field of video games and interactive media. Thus it is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of the Slamdance Games Festival for the foreseeable future.
For optimum exposure for the artists, we had hoped to move the Slamdance Games Festival to a stand-alone, Los Angeles based summer event. Unfortunately, the venue for this summer's festival has cancelled, and we are not at this time able to acquire another. We also believe that it is in the best interest of the community of designers and creators we aim to serve to not continue delaying the event to an unknown time. If you have already submitted to this year’s festival, we apologize for the inconvenience, and any payments already processed will be returned.
Slamdance is committed to serving the growing community of independent gamemakers, and will continue to look for venues and outlets to highlight their creative work. Please keep an eye on the website for future information.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience and confusion regarding this year's event. We also want to thank the community for bringing such support and interest to our event over the past few years, and remain proud of the talented and successful participants of our previous festivals. We have been honored to produce this event for three years, and deeply proud of the mark we leave in the independent game space. This is not the end…
