ABOUT ANARCHY
Slamdance was founded on some of the same basic principles that have made the Internet what it is today -- free expression, individual empowerment, and creative chaos outside the influential sphere of "The Man." In the true spirit of our humble beginnings -- Slamdance 95, Anarchy in Utah -- Slamdance's Anarchy online competition is an extension of our mission to create greater exposure for first-time filmmakers and further empower them in the process of distributing their work.
Slamdance is dedicated to maximizing the amount of exposure Anarchy can create for filmmakers around the world. As a year-round festival, we'll showcase a new slate of 3 films every month. The film that receives the highest score will go on to compete at the end of the year against the other monthly winners as well as play at the Slamdance Film Festival in January in Park City. For more information, check the Anarchy FAQ. To submit your film, go to our online submission form.
Remember, Anarchy is your chance to vote whether or not your feet ever touch Utah snow! Just log in or create an account, then vote for whichever film most strikes your fancy. Your vote only counts for the very last film that you click the VOTE HERE tab for, so feel free to change your mind. The winner will be announced during our award ceremony, January 23, 2009!
