Warstory
Although CLOSE has only one shot, it took us at least twenty takes to get it right. It contains all close-ups, so the performance and details in the frames had to be perfect and the camera move had to be precise and predicted. And the tricky part was, the set had only one-man crew.
Bio - GUO Shang-Sing
GUO Shang-Sing, born in Taiwan, is a writer/director for both film and theatre. Since 2005 his short films Stroke, Johnny Plays Piano and Gun have received well attentions in festivals and exhibitions. Now he lives in New York for his third year in NYU Graduate Film program, and is writing his first feature Afternoon Thunderstorm about a family on a pineapple farm. He is also planning to make a short sci-fi in Beijing. GUO was also the founder of Allstar Theatre, member of White Dance Temple and guest artist in various theatre groups in Taiwan.
